What is Reflexology?

“Reflexology deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which are believed to correspond to parts of the body. It is a unique method, using the thumb and fingers, usually performed on the feet but in some cases also on the hands and ears. A practitioner will work the reflex areas, which may help to relieve stress and tension.” (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council – CNHC www.cnhc.org.uk)

Important notes

Reflexology does not attempt to diagnose any medical conditions. It is a holistic treatment which may be able to  stimulate a person’s own healing energy to restore balance in the body.

In accordance with the requirements of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the Committee on Advertising Practice (CAP), no claim regarding the effect of Reflexology (or any other natural/complementary medical approaches)  on any  medical conditions/ailments can legally be made.

Treatment offered

Foot Reflexology Treatment 

A foot reflexology massage routine designed to the specific needs of the client, i.e. to address any imbalances, after carefully reviewing the client’s medical history & current health.

In most cases, clients would benefit from a weekly treatment over a period of 6 to 8 weeks.

Initial  consultation             45-minute case history taking + 1-hour treatment

Home visit.  Esprit de Lune offers reflexology treatments in the comfort of your own home. Our therapist, Nathalie, will visit you at home and deliver her treatment whilst you relax in a specialist recliner chair, or in the armchair/sofa & footstool of your choice (if preferred).  Please, ring or email to discuss in advance any special requirements so as to give you the most comfortable experience.

Gift vouchers.  Gift vouchers are available to treat friends or loved ones in need of relaxation or a general boost.

Important notes

  • GP approval (see Letter to GP template) may be required before starting a reflexology treatment if the client presents the following medical conditions.  If unsure as to whether your medical condition requires GP approval, please ring or email.

 

  • The benefits of a reflexology treatment and the minimisation of any contra-actions will be greater if the client follows a few simple recommendations for post treatment care.
